Description

A timed anti-extension hold that develops trunk stiffness and shoulder support in a stable forearm position.

Setup & Execution

  1. Place the forearms on the floor with elbows beneath the shoulders and extend the legs behind you.
  2. Press the forearms down, squeeze the glutes, and align the head, ribs, pelvis, and heels.
  3. Breathe quietly while holding only as long as the aligned position remains unchanged.
  4. Lower the knees to end the set before the lower back sags or the shoulders become painful.

Coaching Cues

  • Pull elbows gently toward your toes.
  • Squeeze glutes and keep ribs down.
  • End the set when position changes.

Common Mistakes

  • Holding through a sagging lower back.
  • Piking the hips to avoid trunk effort.
  • Shrugging or holding the breath.
