Description

A supported curl that trains the biceps from a lengthened shoulder position and rewards strict, controlled elbow flexion.

Setup & Execution

  1. Set an incline bench, sit with the back supported, and let the arms hang beside the torso.
  2. Begin with palms forward, shoulders relaxed, and elbows slightly behind the body.
  3. Curl the dumbbells without moving the upper arms or lifting the shoulders.
  4. Lower slowly until the elbows are extended and the biceps are lengthened comfortably.

Coaching Cues

  • Keep upper arms still.
  • Turn the pinkies slightly up.
  • Own the stretch at the bottom.

Common Mistakes

  • Rolling the shoulders forward.
  • Moving the elbows to shorten the rep.
  • Dropping quickly into the bottom position.

Accessible movement summary
